Being one of three major festivals in the year of the Buddhism, the Buddha’s birthday celebration is organized every year across the country, also at Bach Dang Giang relic site, on the full moon day of the fourth lunar month. Besides the meaning of celebrating the Lord Buddha's birthday, the Buddha's birthday celebration is also an opportunity for Buddhists to review the life of the Buddha in order to encourage human energy on the way of practice.
Beside the main ritual ceremony, the Buddha’s birthday celebration in Bach Dang Giang relic site also takes place with such activities as releasing animals, flower garlands on the river, organizing artistic performances, preaching Buddhist law…luring thousands of monks, nuns and Buddhist followers every year.
With the noble meaning, the Buddha’s birthday celebration is an occasion for the participants to understand more about the good things as not only thinking about ourselves but also our parents, grandparents, descendants; reducing the envy, arrogance, feud, egoism; living a good life and getting to forgive…at the same time, conveying the good teachings to others to lead a peaceful and happy life.
