On April 23th and 24th, 2018, Hai Phong City will organize the Bach Dang Giang Victory Festival at Trang Kenh relic (Minh Duc Town, Thuy Nguyen District, Hai Phong City).
This is the first year, Hai Phong city organizes the Bach Dang Giang Victory Festival, on the occasion of the 730 years of Bach Dang victory anniversary, in order to arouse national pride and promote national historical values, as so as great values of this relic.
With the theme as "Bach Dang Giang magnanimity", the festival is solemnly organized and includes 2 main contents: Traditional spiritual rituals and Hai Phong Dragon Boat Races.
The traditional spiritual rituals activities include: Moc Duc ceremony, Cao Yet ceremony, sacrifice ceremony, incense offering ceremony ...
The Dragon Boat Races on the Gia River will be held at the Gia River Rowing Training Center with the participation of Dragon Boat Racing teams in Hai Phong city and nearby localities. Currently, 10 teams registered to participate in the tournament, including 6 teams from the districts of Hai Phong city and 4 teams from Thai Binh, Quang Ninh, Nam Dinh and Hung Yen provinces.
There will be an art performance program with the theme "Bach Dang Giang magnanimity" which will be broadcast live on Hai Phong Radio and Television Station.
Bach Dang Giang relic is located in Trang Kenh relic and a long Bach Dang river that is known as "3 No" relics: No fee, no waste and no shop.
In 1962, Trang Kenh relic was recognized by the State as a national historic and cultural relic. This used to be a site marked with great names and great merits in chasing the Northern enemy as King Ngo Quyen in 938, Le Hoan (King Le Dai Hanh) in 981 and Tran Hung Dao (Hung Dao Dai Vuong) in 1288. During the war against the French colonialists, Trang Kenh relic was one of the revolutionary bases of Hai Phong army and people .
